As part of the programming at 2022's convention in Thornbury, ON, those in attendance were presented with the unique opportunity to watch an advanced screening of the Blue Mountain Pottery documentary, Blue Clay. This feature length Telly award winning film examines the legends of Blue Mountain Pottery, how it saved the Blue Mountain Ski Resort, and how through its own remarkable journey still lives on today. It features in-depth interviews with close relatives of the founders of Blue Mountain Pottery, past employees, current owners and even our own Conrad Biernacki and Bruce Dyer. The film created by the Craigleith Heritage Depot and Mountain Goat Film Company has been posted to the Blue Mountains Public Library YouTube channel. You can watch the trailer here and the entire film here.
Word of the Week:Earthenware: is an opaque, vitreous type of pottery fired below 2190°F which in its unglazed state absorbs liquids. Fired earthenware lacks the stone-like structure of higher temperature fired ceramics and can be easily scratched. Earthenware is sometimes referred to as terracotta.

Convention Memories - 2022 Convention
(Archived) 20th Anniversary Celebration - July 22 to 24, 2022
In celebration of the beginnings of Jozo Weider's pottery, the Blue Mountain Pottery Collectors Club held their 20th Annual Convention last summer in partnership with the Craigleith Heritage Museum and the Blue Mountain Tourist Board.
The successful events took place at the Beaver Valley Community Center in Thornbury, Ontario from July 22-24, 2022. On Saturday morning, there was an address by the Mayor of the Town of Blue Mountains followed by an official ribbon cutting ceremony to open the event. The sales floor was then opened to the public. There were sculpting demonstrations by David Bennett (the last potter at BMP) and visitors were also given the opportunity to meet retired Royal Ontario Museum expert, Mr Conrad Biernacki as he shared information about his upcoming book on the history of Blue Mountain Pottery. Visitors were also able to attend the film premiere of Blue Clay, a documentary about the history of Blue Mountain Pottery.

Convention Souvenirs
This plate (2022) was designed by fellow member and retired Master Potter, David G. Bennett to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the founding of the Blue Mountain Pottery Collectors Club. The scene depicts the Craigleith railway station, where many believe that Jozo Weider first started his pottery making hobby which in turn led to the establishment of the Blue Mountain Pottery factory in Collingwood, Ontario. The plates are numbered and the plate comes with a certificate of authenticity printed on our letterhead bond. Available to members only. For further information click here.
A limited number of souvenirs from other years (including 2024) are also still available. For further information click here.
